G7参加のキリスト教国はなぜに神より核抑止力に頼る？ Why do Christian nations participating in the G7 rely on nuclear deterrence rather than God?

サミット参加7カ国は、またしても核抑止力に頼る。

The seven countries participating in the summit will once again be dependent on nuclear deterrence.

だが、思い出して欲しい。

But remember.

7カ国のうちの6カ国は、自らをキリスト教国として位置付けているのではないだろうか。

Six of the seven countries may position themselves as Christian.

ならなぜ、平和のために核抑止力に頼るのだ。

So why do we rely on nuclear deterrence to achieve peace?

十戒の初めには、「私の他を神としてはならない」とある。

The beginning of the Ten Commandments says, "Thou shalt have no other god besides me."

そしてイエスは言う。

And Jesus says.

幼子のように天の御父を思うものが、御父の国に入るのだと。

He said that whoever thinks of the Heavenly Father as a little child thinks of its father will enter the Father's kingdom.

幼子のようにというのは、自らを無力であり親に頼らなければ何もできないと自覚すると言う意味である。

To be like an infant is to realize that without our Heavenly Father we are helpless, unable to do anything.

幼子のうちは、何をするにも親を頼るしかないので何かにつけて親に頼る。

As young children, they have no other means of doing anything but to rely on their parents, so they rely on their parents for anything.

出来る事が増えると、次第に親を頼らなくなる。

As they are able to do more, they gradually stop relying on their parents.

何でも自分でやれるし、何でも自分でやらなければならないと思い込むようになる。

They come to believe that they can do everything themselves and that they must do everything themselves.

それが成長する事であり、大人になる事だと思い込むようになる。

They come to believe that this is what growing up and becoming an adult is all about.

いつまでたっても親を頼るのは、恥ずかしく思い込むようになる。

They are ashamed to rely on their parents for any length of time and assume they cannot rely on their parents.

そして、他人に頼るのもまた恥ずかしく思い込むようになる。

And they also become ashamed to rely on others to help them.

だが、イエスは言う。

But Jesus says.

何歳になっても、自分でできないと感じるなら助けを求めても良いのだと。

He said that no matter how old you are, it's okay to ask for help if you feel you can't do it yourself.

そして、一番に頼るべきなのは天の御父なのだと。

And that it is our Heavenly Father to whom we should turn first.

わかっていないとか見えていないとか感じるなら、真っ先に天の御父に頼るべきであると。

He said that if we feel we don't understand or can't see, we should turn first to our Heavenly Father.

ならなぜ、神に頼らないのか。

Then why not turn to God?

イエスに自分には何が足りないのか尋ねた金持ちの若者が、財産をすべて貧しい人に与えて私について来なさいと言われたようになるのが怖いのか。

Are you afraid that you will be like the rich young man who asked Jesus what he lacked and was told to give all his wealth to the poor and follow me?

イエスは言う。

Jesus says.

人には出来ない事も神には出来る。

What man cannot do, God can do.

G7参加の欧米の6カ国よ、あなた方はキリスト教国ではないのか。

To the six Western countries participating in the G7, are you not Christian nations?

平和実現のために真っ先に頼るべきは、天の御父ではないのか。

In order to achieve peace, the first person we should turn to is our Heavenly Father.

あなた方はキリスト教国と言うなら、核抑止力などと言わないで天の御父にこそ頼るべきではないのか。

If we call ourselves a Christian nation, shouldn't we rely on our Heavenly Father instead of nuclear deterrence?

教会で説教を聞くだけで、自分では聖書そのものを読まないのだろうか。

Do they just listen to sermons in church and not read the Bible itself?
